CASTELBUONO AND CEFALU'

Meet us and the rest of the group at the Meeting Point and drive to Castelbuono, a small medieval village located in the Park of Madonie with a delightful, still well preserved old town that captivates you from the very first moment. The town develops around the castle of Ventimiglia, near a Byzantine hamlet called Ypsigro. Walking through its narrow streets, is like entering another dimension. Upon arrival we join a small pastry-shop to taste the famous Sicilian Panettone, a typical Christmas cake originally Milan tradition, rethought and reviewed in a Sicilian way, with a special attention to the tastes of the land to the respect for the rhythms of nature. Enjoy the Sicilian Panettone Tasting.
Later onto Cefalù a gorgeoius town located on the northern coast of Sicily and one of the major tourist attractions in the region. Built on a promontory dominated by a sheer cliff, Cefalù, still keeping its ancient print, has grown around the Cathedral wanted by Ruggero II. The Cathedral, began in 1131, is one of the most interesting medieval monuments of the island and boasts outstanding mosaics and a wonderful cloister. A large part of the town is pedestrian. Stroll through the medieval narrow street and admire the picturesque houses on the sea and the long beach of finest sand.
At the end of the tour we drive back to Palermo.
